Instagram experiments with Geo-Restrictions
Instagram is testing a new geofencing feature, which would allow users to post to select locations rather than globally.
According to app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, “[geofencing] allows creators to limit the specific countries where their content will be visible,” without fear of governmental repercussions, in theory.
Twitter and Facebook already offer similar restriction controls specific to different countries which makes the addition no surprise at Instagram.
