Why? Facebook sponsored posts with high engagement rates get assigned high Relevance Scores, which get rewarded by the Facebook Ad algorithm through increased exposure at lower cost.

Instagram Rolls Out New Direct Message Tools, Including Remix and Replay Controls
After announcing their direct message photo remix tools back in August, Instagram has confirmed that the new option is now being rolled out to all users.
In addition, users will also have the ability to send a split-screen reply with the sent image by tapping on the sticker.
Instagram has also announced a new function, which relates to another of their Snapchat-like tools in DMs.

Facebook’s Working on a Way to Automatically Animate Your Profile Image – and it’s a Little Weird
Facebook is working on a new way to animate still images, with a focus on providing new, reactive images on profiles.
The process utilizes a range of advanced computer vision techniques in order to ‘bring a still portrait to life, making it feel as if the person is breathing’.
The inspiration, Facebook says, is Harry Potter-style animated images. But the results are slightly creepy.

Pinterest Launches ‘Secret Santa’ Campaign to Drive Holiday Gift Purchases
Whether you use it or not, it’s hard to ignore the power of Pinterest, and the influence the platform has in guiding users towards purchase.
According to research, some 93% of active Pinners use the platform to plan for or make purchases, while 52% have seen something on Pinterest and made a purchase online.
