Australia’s Ad Market Will Reach Almost $16 Billion In 2017: Magna
The Australian advertising market will fall just short of $16 Billion in total spend in 2017, according to Magna Australia, IPG Mediabrands’ media investment and intelligence division.
The new forecast comes as the Australian market achieved stronger than expected growth of 7.4 per cent in 2016 and Magna is predicting the market will expand by another 6.3 per cent in 2017.

Zenith Report: Social Media Ad Spend To Overtake Newspapers By 2020
A new report by ad agency Zenith in the US has found (many would argue hardly unsurprisingly, too) that ad spend on social media around the globe will overtake spends for newspapers in the next four years.
It also follows a provocative article on B&Tyesterday that came with the rather dire warning that 2017 would be the year that digital started killing off traditional medias such as print and TV.

Study: How Male And Female Audiences Differ When Viewing Racy Ads
Both men and women look at sexy adverts the same way, although the blokes tended to dwell on the model longer while women were better at recalling what was actually being sold to them a British study has revealed.
Eyetrack Shop, a firm that specialises in monitoring eye movements over a page, and the UK’s Medical Research Council reviewed the reactions of 50 men and 50 women to two raunchy print ads for H&M and Reebok and a more conservative one for the car brand SAAB. You can check out the full study here.

Advertising Adds $40 Billion PA To The Aussie Economy: Comms Council Report
Is the reason you work in adland the fact it’s full of attractive people and you can often drink at your desk? Well, now there’s another reason to to be cheerful, you’re adding $40 billion to the economy every year, apparently!
According to a report by Deloitte Access Economics and commissioned and released this morning by The Communications Council, advertising spend contributes $40 billion a year to the Australian economy, or two per cent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

Global Ad Spend To Hit $US579 Billion In 2016: ZenithOptimedia
Ad spend around the globe is set to grow a healthy 4.6 per cent to $US579 billion this year according to global research agency ZenithOptimedia.
The report says 2016 is looking particularly optimistic on the back of the Rio Olympics, UEFA soccer in Europe and the US Presidential elections. Improving economic conditions in Europe and emerging markets opening themselves up to international brands will also have a positive affect, the report says.
Global Ad Market To Remain Sluggish But Digital Set To Dominate
A new report released by GroupM has predicted that ad spend globally will remain subdued over the coming 12 months.
The report predicts that global ad investment had grown about four per cent in 2015 and will continue to grow to four and a half per cent in 2016.
