Now a new report suggests that by 2020 digital will influence 47% of revenues across a wide range of industries according to the study by Forrester research and Odgers Berndtson.

In turn this is drive the global B2B ecommerce market revenues into the stratosphere with Forrester prediction $1.3 trillion in sales with five years.However the grim conclusion of the study’s authors is that most of today’s companies are unprepared for this change. Despite this, executives are hugely optimistic about how digital will change their business according to Nigel Fenwick, writing on a Forrester blog.

Why The Internet Of Things Is The Ultimate Disruptor: A Case Study

The internet of things (IoT) will disrupt global insurance markets according to Accenture. The management consulting firm says “Insurers will need to dramatically reshape their business model, combining insurance with technology, ecosystem services and partners”.

According to the company the IoT is driving a connected, as-a-service economy, and forcing change upon the sector. For their part, the insurers already overwhelmingly agree, with 80 per cent saying they expect the IoT will disrupt their traditional way of doing business.

Uber Set To Disrupt Bus Services With uberHOP

Ride-sharing app Uber has launched a new service called uberHop in Seattle which saves money and time by allowing riders to get picked up in a pre-arranged location (like a bus stop), sharing it with strangers (like a bus), and being dropped off at any point along a predetermined route (exactly like a bus).

When a Seattle rider requests a trip on one of the three routes available, they will be directed to walk a few blocks to meet up with drivers and other passengers.
