Instagram Rolls Out Option to Mute Profiles
Instagram officially announced its new option to mute profiles, enabling users to stop seeing updates from people without having to unfollow them.
As it sounds (and as it works on other social platforms), the mute option removes posts from chosen users from your Instagram timeline.
You can still see each of these users’ posts on their profile page/s, and you’ll still be notified if they mention or tag you, but their updates won’t show up in your home stream.

Facebook has released its latest ‘Topics to Watch’ report, which highlights the key subjects gaining momentum, based on mention volume, across The Social Network.
According to Facebook’s research team, up to 80% of the topics they identify in their monthly reports go on to become more significant movements.

LinkedIn Releases New Tool to Highlight How Your Skills Match Advertised Positions
LinkedIn’s adding a new element to their job ads which will highlight how your specific skills.
As you can see here, now, to the right of the job description, there’ll be a new, scrollable listing of how your skills match up, giving you a better idea of your potential fit.
That listing may include education level, skills, years of experience, and current job title – the advertiser will have the capability to select which elements they want to list as part of the job posting.

Snapchat Rolls Out 6-Second, Unskippable Ads in Shows
Snapchat is now rolling out its new, unskippable, 6-second ads, forcing users to sit through commercials.
First off, it’s not as bad as it may seem – the 6-second ads are not being inserted in or around user content
They’ll only be available within Snap’s shows, the professionally created content published to the app from companies like Disney, Viacom and ESPN.

Snapchat Rolls Out Redesigned Redesign to Users
It’s hard to tell if this is a good or bad sign.
Snap Inc., facing significant backlash over the redesign of their flagship app Snapchat, which aimed to put increased emphasis on friend-to-friend connection.
According to The Verge, the updated Snapchat redesign will put Snaps and chats back in chronological order, and move Stories from your friends back over to the right-hand side of the app.
