Uber Set To Disrupt Bus Services With uberHOP

Ride-sharing app Uber has launched a new service called uberHop in Seattle which saves money and time by allowing riders to get picked up in a pre-arranged location (like a bus stop), sharing it with strangers (like a bus), and being dropped off at any point along a predetermined route (exactly like a bus).

When a Seattle rider requests a trip on one of the three routes available, they will be directed to walk a few blocks to meet up with drivers and other passengers.

Facebook ‘Instant Articles’ Keep On Rolling With First Local Partner Fairfax

Fairfax Media has launched into a partnership with Facebook in Australia and New Zealand to continue rolling out the social media platform’s ‘Instant Articles’ program.

The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age andStuff.co.nz will be responsible for carrying on the program, which features a suite of new interactive tools, including auto-play videos, interactive maps and audio captions, and improves the speed at which news stories can be viewed by as much as 10 times compared to standard mobile web articles.
