Snap Inc.’s Sold 150,000 Pairs of Spectacles, Looking to Bring Snapchat to PCs
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel has this week announced that they’ve only sold around 150,000 pairs of the camera-enabled glasses.
That’s still a lot, of course, but when we’re talking about an app that has more than 173 million people logging on every day, it’s only a very small fraction of their potential market.
Spiegel made the announcement at the Vanity Fair Establishment Summit, where he also discussed the company’s future, and their decision to go public – which, despite seeing declines since the shares debuted, Spiegel believes was still the right move.

Could Snapchat’s Collaborations with Apple and Google Signal Something More?
The newly listed company's forging some interesting connections via partnerships with tech giants, which may point to future opportunities for the app.
Recently, when announcing the coming launch of the iPhone X, Apple’s SVP of software engineering Craig Federighi discussed the detail of their new face-tracking and image enhancement tools, and explained how they’d been working with Snapchat to develop Lenses and visual additions based on this.
That mention alone saw shares in Snap Inc. spike, with many speculating what this potential partnership might mean.

Snap Inc. Releases New ‘Advanced Mode’ for Snapchat Ads Manager
Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, has released an update for their new self-serve ad platform as the company looks to boost their revenue potential ahead of their second quarter earnings.
Of course, any change they make now is unlikely to shift the needle in these results, but they may give Snap’s executives a way to divert attention
To point to future opportunities, if, as many expect, the numbers they end up posting on Thursday don’t wow the market.
