The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa, dating back to 1952 when Ben Schild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled with his family. Today, second and third generation vigneron’s work side by side to solidify Schild Estate’s reputation, built on its commitment to translating the unique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.

Our wines have a unique character with balance and structure. They are fruit driven because we believe in our vineyard and we want you to taste the unique flavours in the wines of this particular site. Our range of wines has an obvious house style because they are all made and grown the same way in the same soil. Our wines honestly represent vintage. Rusden is a “vigneron” in the true sense of the word. We grow the grapes, make and bottle the wine and sell the wine ourselves to our many and varied restaurant friends and loyal mail order customers all over Australia.

Brave and faithful is the Hart motto embodied by our first courageous ancestors who arrived in South Australia in 1845 with steadfast dreams of a fruitful life on the land. Amongst the first free settlers to acquire terra firma in the untamed Barossa Valley, the earliest address for these pioneers with seven children, was a hollow tree on the banks of the North Para River.

The currency Creek Winery site, which was established in 1969, comprises of 30 acres which consists of vineyards, Natural bushland, winery complex and landscaped gardens.

Oxenberry wines represent the combined experience of over 120 years in viticulture, winemaking and geographical knowledge of the Scarpantoni family. The red wines in particular highlight the strengths of certain varieties in differing McLaren Vale geographical locations, and careful consideration has been made to make the best suited varieties of the region into their optimum style of wines rather than trying to make popular varieties into popular styles. To this end the wines will most always be mixed varieties and very limited in production.
